History
Early trumpets date back to 1500 BC. These trumpets were for military and religious reasons. They were sometimes called bugles. Bugles did not have valves so
changing key was very hard. In the 1800's keys and eventually valves were added to the trumpet. In present day (20th century) it is used in pop music because of
its clear, focused sound. Not only is it used in pop and jazz music but also traditional music from around the world.
